Delegate Counting in Texas and Ohio

I agree with many of the posts here pointing out that Clinton's claim to "experience" is based primarily her husband's record instead of her own.

I think that Democrats should be deeply concerned about this.

In fact, I believe that this is the strongest argument AGAINST her candidacy -- because she is so closely allied with the politics of her husband, I fear that another Clinton running for president will only galvanize conservatives in November -- ensuring greater GOP voter turnouts and risking the potential that many independents will sway towards McCain.

If we want to avoid another four years of a GOP White House, I think that Obama is the only sane choice.

Canadiens complete incredible comeback

And the Montreal Canadiens are (nearly) 100 years old and have had some great teams," noted coach Guy Carbonneau. "You have to give credit to the players.

"I think last year, we would have packed it in. But we've been like this since the start of the season. That's why we haven't had any long losing streaks. It's fun to come back. It's a big boost for our team, especially at this time of year."

Alex Kovalev and Mark Streit scored in the third period to tie the game and force overtime before a delirious sellout crowd announced at 21,273 - many of whom stuck it out even when Montreal was down by five. Michael Ryder scored twice in the second period to get the comeback started.

The Rangers had built their lead by the 5:03 mark of the second period as a pair of their veterans made history.

Toyota Sticking To Demure Script. Ford Who?

Toyota Motor Sales U.S. chief Jim Lentz wouldn't comment about whether he thought Toyota would surpass Ford Motor Co. in market sharethis year, and said it really doesn't matter.

"We don't adjust our plans based on their performance," Lentz said. "I'm not going to, as the head of Toyota, make bad business decisions just to chase someone else."

He added that Toyota doesn't advertise its ranking for specific products, and doesn't believe it's something that customers care about.

That's not what Ford thinks. "People don't care too much about whether their car is the top brand, but in pickups, that's not the case…truck buyers like to know they are part of a winner," says Ford Division marketing chief Barry Engle.

Ford is the top pickup truck brand in the U.S., but that is in large part because General Motors splits up its full-size pickup trucks sales between the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra.

Beginning of a New Era

Pledging to "roll up our sleeves, work cooperatively and get things done," Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney outlined the agenda for her first year of office Tuesday in her first State of the County address.

The national economy shows signs of slowing and the proposed state budget could cost county taxpayers, Mahoney said.

"However, I believe our underlying strength will allow us to wea- ther a storm and still chart a new course that will enrich the lives of our residents, promote the growth of businesses and begin to fulfill the enormous potential of our community," Mahoney told an audience of more than 350 legislators, political leaders, administration officials and friends at Bellevue Middle School Academy in Syracuse.

Mahoney spent about a third of her 50-minute speech talking about the economy.

Hornets' derby debacle

WATFORD's crisis of results at Vicarage Road plunged to new depths this afternoon (Saturday) after they crashed to a 4-2 defeat against Queens Park Rangers.

The game was effectively over by half-time after the counter-attacking visitors had capitalised on some alarming defensive failings in the Hornets rearguard to race into a 3-0 lead courtesy of two Martin Rowlands goals, including a penalty, and a Damion Stewart header.

A Damien Francis header at the start of the second-half, which had suspicions of an own goal about it, gave the Hornets hope, but Akos Buzsaky ensured it would be seven games without a win at Vicarage Road for the home side before Dan Shittu netted a late consolation.

Blotter: Woman reports losing money in online repair deal

Police are investigating a report from a Virginia woman that a Denton business she found on the Internet defrauded her of more than $1,000.

The woman said she found the business in the 3300 block of East University Drive and its Web site claimed it would replace a transmission for $1,097. In August, she spoke by telephone to someone at the business and gave that person her credit card number.

She was instructed to take the car to a transmission business near her home in Martinsville, Va.

Her credit card was debited $17 for an authorization fee and later $1,080. Then someone from the business told her she would have to pay an extra $250 for "hard parts," according to a police report. Later, she was told the job had not been completed and would not be completed until she paid a total $2,500 for the work.

State Senator Advocates EAP Israel Renewal

In spite of the State Dept.'s continuing travel warnings, students and a state senator have increased their efforts to end the University of California Education Abroad Program's five-year freeze on studies in Israel.

The EAP study abroad program in the Middle Eastern country has remained "on hold" since the State Dept. posted a "Travel Warning" on its Web site, www.travel.state.gov, in Sept. 2002 advising American visitors to take caution and heed the continuing threats to U.S. interests when in Israel. The most recent Travel Warning cites suicide bombings in 2006 and 2007, rockets from the Gaza Strip and intelligence that terrorists may see American interests as targets.

However, California State Senator Carole Migden (D-San Francisco) proposed a Senate Resolution on Jan.
